Peter L. Stevenson, M.D.

Peter L. Stevenson, MD, is a highly qualified and respected OB/GYN with more than 20 years of experience in women’s health. At his practice, Dearborn Obstetrics & Gynecology PC, he provides outstanding treatment and care for patients living in the Dearborn area of Michigan, where he grew up. Dr. Stevenson graduated from Kalamazoo College in Michigan with a degree in chemistry, and credits his experience at ‘K’ as having a significant positive impact on his life. During his time there, Dr. Stevenson worked in the morgue for an entire term, spent his junior year abroad at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen, Germany, and completed original human genetics research at the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute for Cancer Research in Denver. Following his graduation from K, Dr. Stevenson studied medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit. He received many honors in medical school, including receiving clinical honors in internal medicine, neurology, and psychiatry, and serving as student leader for general surgery. With his medical degree in hand, Dr. Stevenson undertook his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, where in his final year of training Dr. Stevenson became chief resident. Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Stevenson started teaching and currently serves as a clinical associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, where he has twice been named clinical preceptor of the year. Dr. Stevenson is a frequently requested guest lecturer, presenting grand rounds all over the United States. He also trains OB/GYN colleagues in specialist surgical techniques including novel laparoscopy procedures, laser techniques, minimally invasive bladder suspension, and use of the DaVinci Surgical System. Outside of his practice, Dr. Stevenson spent time as an air ambulance physician, flying fixed wing medical evacuations all over the world. He is also certified in tactical medicine, with experience in tactical EMS support for law enforcement.

Katherine Lew, PA-C

Katherine Lew earned her Physician Assistant Certification (P.A.-C) from Eastern Michigan University. She has experience within multiple disciplines of medicine and is excited to be practicing with the Dearborn OB/GYN staff. Prior to earning her P.A.-C, Ms. Lew worked at University of Michigan as a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist where she supervised Anaerobes and Mass Spectroscopy work within the Microbiology Lab. During her time at University of Michigan, Lew implemented new technology and training procedures for the Lab, provided research support for publication, and lead her team through departmental restructuring. She earned her Medical Lab Technologist license from the Indiana University School of Medicine. Ms. Lew is a keynote speaker and published author, and enjoys training students in all areas of healthcare. Ms. Lew is passionate about good coffee, cooking, traveling, and tending her vegetable garden. She previously lived in Indiana and Illinois, and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Taylor University. Lew now makes her home in Canton, Michigan with her husband; two rescue cats, Cinnamon and Chloe; and their rescue dog Kona, an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix.
