Peter L. Stevenson, M.D.

Peter L. Stevenson, MD, is a highly qualified and respected OB/GYN with more than 20 years of experience in women’s health. At his practice, Dearborn Obstetrics & Gynecology PC, he provides outstanding treatment and care for patients living in the Dearborn area of Michigan, where he grew up. Dr. Stevenson graduated from Kalamazoo College in Michigan with a degree in chemistry, and credits his experience at ‘K’ as having a significant positive impact on his life. During his time there, Dr. Stevenson worked in the morgue for an entire term, spent his junior year abroad at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität in Erlangen, Germany, and completed original human genetics research at the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute for Cancer Research in Denver. Following his graduation from K, Dr. Stevenson studied medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit. He received many honors in medical school, including receiving clinical honors in internal medicine, neurology, and psychiatry, and serving as student leader for general surgery. With his medical degree in hand, Dr. Stevenson undertook his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn, where in his final year of training Dr. Stevenson became chief resident. Following the completion of his residency, Dr. Stevenson started teaching and currently serves as a clinical associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, where he has twice been named clinical preceptor of the year. Dr. Stevenson is a frequently requested guest lecturer, presenting grand rounds all over the United States. He also trains OB/GYN colleagues in specialist surgical techniques including novel laparoscopy procedures, laser techniques, minimally invasive bladder suspension, and use of the DaVinci Surgical System. Outside of his practice, Dr. Stevenson spent time as an air ambulance physician, flying fixed wing medical evacuations all over the world. He is also certified in tactical medicine, with experience in tactical EMS support for law enforcement.

Hannah M. Newell, P.A.-C.

Hannah Newell is a board-certified Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She completed her Bachelor of Science at University of Detroit Mercy and went on to receive her Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies at University of Detroit Mercy where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Prior to her university studies, Ms. Newell lived and studied in Nanjing, China for 4 years where she became proficient in Mandarin and attended Nanjing International School. There, she had the opportunity to rotate through various areas of medicine including at the Ming Ji Hospital of Nanjing in the OB/GYN department. Ms. Newell is excited to be practicing with the Dearborn OB/GYN group as she grew up in Dearborn, MI. Her philosophy is to provide exceptional obstetric and gynecological medical care with the highest level of ethical standards, compassion and care. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, exercising and Irish step dancing.
