Appointments
Patients are seen by appointment only. Please call in advance so that we may reserve a date and time which is convenient for you. In order to set aside a sufficient length of time for your appointment, please explain the nature of your visit to the office when you call. If the nature of your problem is confidential, please ask to speak to one of the nursing personnel.
Due to the nature of medical practice, unexpected emergencies arise from time to time. Should an emergency interfere with your scheduled appointment, we will make every attempt to reschedule you at your convenience.
If you need to be seen because of a sudden onset of severe symptoms, please call the office as soon as the symptoms arise. When you call, the office staff will make every effort to schedule an emergency visit. Please understand that your emergency appointment may need to be “squeezed in” or “added on” to the existing patient appointment schedule, which may require a wait in the office prior to your evaluation.
We will call you to confirm you appointment at least one day in advance. If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify the office at least one day in advance. Cancelled appointment times can be reassigned to patients who need to be seen urgently. You may be charged for any appointments that you fail to cancel without sufficient notice.
Children
We love children! We deliver babies in our practice. However, our office is not a 'childproof' environment. In addition, young children demand 100% of the parents' attention. This nature behavior makes adequate communication between the patient and the physician very difficult, especially when discussing serious health issues such as surgery.
We all love our kids, but children are the potential carriers of childhood diseases (such as RVS and Chicken Pox) and unknown infections that may pose serious health risks to pregnant patients. We must ask that you please be considerate of other patients and refrain from bringing your children to your appointment.
Gynecology
We specialize in the care of women. We are specially trained to treat women’s health care problems, including: breast masses, breast pain, nipple discharge, abdominal pain and masses, pelvic pain, vaginal discharge, abnormal vaginal bleeding, abnormal Pap smears, HPV disease and dysplasia, menopause, ovarian cysts, pelvic pain, endometriosis, PMS, female glandular diseases, and infertility. We also perform gynecologic surgery. We are all trained in out patient, minimally invasive techniques.
Medical Records and Confidentiality
Your medical records are confidential. We will release you records ONLY IF you give us written authorization. No one may request for information to be released except the patient. Medical information may be requested for other physicians, insurance needs or to designated entities upon your written request. If the office staff needs to contact a patient, no detailed telephone messages will be left. Only a message that asks you to call the office will be left.
Telephone Calls
In order to allow the physicians to concentrate fully on your care when you are in the office, our staff will handle routine phone calls. Our staff has years of experience and has been specially trained to answer your questions. If they are unable to address your concerns, one of the physicians would be happy to return your phone call at a later time. Calls are returned after office hours.
Complicated medical issues often need to be discussed face-to-face at a consultation visit at the office, rather than over the telephone. If this is the case, the physicians and staff will set up an appointment so as to address all of your questions and concerns.
Whenever you have questions, please call during regular office hours. All prescriptions should be requested during business hours. Please have your prescription and pharmacy phone number handy when you call.
After Hours/Emergencies
The staff answers the phones until the physicians leave the office. After regular office hours, and on weekends and holidays, you may reach the physician on call though the answering service FOR EMERGENCIES ONLY. Routine calls may be held by the answering service for the staff when the office opens.
In emergencies, it is necessary for the physician to speak directly to the patient in order to best evaluate the situation. As you would expect, it is impossible to provide medical care over the phone. Though we try to avoid sending our patients to the emergency room, sometimes it is necessary in order to rule out a life threatening condition. Otherwise, we will ask that you follow up in the office during the next business day.
